Biophilia live

Biophilia Live est un film réalisé par Peter Strickland et Nick Fenton qui saisit l’élément humain du projet multimédia multi-disciplinaire de Björk : Biophilia. Enregistré en live au concert au Alexandra Palace de Londres en 2013, le film présente Björk et son groupe jouant tous les titres de Biophilia et plus en utilisant une large variété d’instruments - certains digitaux, certains traditionnels et certains complètement inclassables. La scénographie à 360° du live a nécessité l’utilisation de 16 caméras pour le tournage. Le film a déjà été salué par les critiques comme "un enregistrement captivant d’une artiste en pleine possession de ses pouvoirs idiosyncrasiques" (Variety) et "une oeuvre imaginative autonome" (Hollywood Reporter) et comme une pièce essentielle à la grande mosaïque qu’est Biophilia.

"Filming in the round was quite daunting for me. For anyone, really. It’s a challenge to please so many people : not getting in the musician’s way, not getting in the audience’s way, but also allowing the film’s audience in. I saw the show twice prior to filming : Once seated in the audience and once within a dummy run, when Brett [Turnbull, the film’s d.p.] filmed it on two cameras. It turned out a bit rubbish, to be honest, and we could see that we needed a lot more people on hand. We ended up with 16 cameras, which seems a bit excessive, but the nature of being in the round didn’t leave us much choice." Interview de Peter Strickland via Variety
