Musicien américain, spécialisé dans l’improvisation, il est considéré comme l’un des meilleurs batteur de sa génération. Il a collaboré avec de nombreux artistes et notamment avec le saxophoniste Paul Flaherty, mais aussi le groupe Sonic Youth.

Working with her was no different than working with all the other underground weirdos I know – and I say that with great love ! She was loose and intuitive, very open. She let me wander through the tracks, then directed it afterwards. I’d play something on “Earth Intruders”, we’d listen to it, she’d say, ‘Oh, play that thing that you did again !’ It wasn’t slick, it was intuitive.
