En collaboration avec Sister City à New York et Microsoft, Björk présente Kórsafn ( en islandais kór = chorale + safn = “archives”) la bande son d’un hôtel générée à partir d’un algorithme
Pour l’occasion, Björk a ouvert ses 17 ans d’archives de chorale avec certains arrangements interprétés par The Hamrahlid Choir.
Le projet a été lancé l’année dernière avec Julianna Barwick. A partir d’une caméra installée sur le toit de l’hôtel Sister City, l’intelligence artificielle est capable de générer des compositions musicales. L’IA identifie l’environnement de la skyline (nuages, oiseaux, avions, neige, sunrise et sunset) pour réagir avec les chœurs et proposer quelque chose de nouveau chaque jour.
La bande son sera diffusée dans le hall de l’hôtel new yorkais jusqu’à la fin de l’année. Elle est en écoute en direct sur sistercitynyc.com.

an architectural structure downtown manhattan offered me the hand in an AI tango and i accepted the call, i am alert with curiosity waiting the results. i offered them my choir archives, written over 17 years that will float through the pinball of artificial intelligence by the grid of bird migrations, clouds, aeroplanes and that voluptuous thing called barometer ! hudson valley happens to be one of the most bird-trafficked deltas on the planet, i know this of my own experience .... hope you will enjoy this ! warmth
