Alec Empire, est à la tête du label berlinois Digital Hardcore Recordings, il est le leader du trio Atari Teenage Riot, créé à Berlin en 1992. Le groupe est connu pour leur musique puissante, voir dévastatrice, mêlant punk, techno et hardcore.

En 2000, Björk, Alec Empire et le Brodsky Quartet devaient sortir un EP de 4 titres - ‘April’, ‘Five Years’, ‘Sod Off’ et ‘Yoga’ (sic) - qui n’a finalement pas vu le jour malgré son état avancé.
It’s been planned since last summer and now I want to nail it down over the next two or three weeks. It was crazy because the last European tour and the problems we had with the band, everything got so fucked up that I couldn’t finish it.
The string quartet performance is very complex. What I’m trying to do is find a good balance between what I do and what they do.
